Elmsford, N.Y., July 28, 2010 – The Hardball NY Training Center has been selected to serve as a Collection Hub for Roberto’s Kids, announced co-owner Bill Sullivan. Roberto’s Kids is a charitable organization that collects and distributes used baseball and softball equipment to youth in need of equipment in areas such as the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, and parts of Africa.
“The partnership with Roberto’s Kids is very special to us at Hardball,” said Sullivan. “Knowing that we can assist in such a great cause means so much to the Hardball family. To be able to bring the game to youngsters around the world is priceless.”
Hardball NY has already begun its collection drive and has received several donations of uniforms. Other new or gently worn equipment that can be donated includes: gloves, bats, balls, catcher’s equipment, bases, batting helmets, cleats, sneakers, hats, and socks. Donations can be dropped off at the facility, located at 102 Fairview Park Drive, Elmsford, NY 10523.
“Roberto’s Kids is very appreciative of the support of Hardball,” said Stephen Pindar, Founder of Roberto’s Kids. “Volunteers and collection hubs like Hardball are the backbone of our organization.”
